A free template to help you explain how you work, what you need, and how others can bring out your best — especially if you're an introvert or highly sensitive professional.

Weird question: when you buy something from IKEA, do you read the instruction manual carefully — or do you wing it and get frustrated when it doesn't work?

Here's why I ask:

Every piece of furniture comes with its own manual. And so do people.

Imagine you're a manager and you want your team to do amazing work. You're working with a highly social, chatty salesperson who always comes up with great ideas on the spot — and a brilliant, thoughtful designer whose work exceeds expectations when given enough time to prep.

Would you communicate with both of them in the same way? Would it make sense to ask the designer to present in a big meeting with no preparation time? Or make the salesperson work alone, with no one to bounce ideas off?

No. Because we all come with different instruction manuals.

And if we’re not aware of what our / our manager’s / our colleagues’ instruction manual looks like, friction, misunderstandings and even conflicts happen.

That's the communication gap this template fixes.‍

‍A Personal User Manual captures how you communicate, what you need to do your best work, how you handle stress and feedback, and what usually gets in the way. You fill it in once, share it with the people around you — and most of the guesswork disappears.

Built from patterns I've seen across 150+ coaching clients. Takes 20–30 minutes to complete.
